International Folk Dance Festival 2007
Dunedin Dancers held its 19th International Folk Dance Festival from 21st to 28th July 2007, when more than 100 dancers and musicians came together for a week of music and dance.
The Festival was based at George Watson's College, Colinton Road, Edinburgh, with public performances at Falkland Palace in Fife, at The Mound in Edinburgh, outside the Scottish Parliament, in the Church Hill Theatre in Edinburgh, on the Green at Peebles, and at Stirling Castle.
We welcomed the following three groups to our 19th Festival in 2007, in addition, of course, to our own dancers and dancers from Edinburgh University New Scotland Country Dance Society:
- Sing- und Spielgruppe Hartberg, from Austria (pictured left)
- Rasa, from Lithuania
- Podjavořičan, from Telč in the Czech Republic (pictured above).
There are pictures of the Festival at the BBC website and the Scottish Parliament site.
